“People have a perception that independent kitchen designers are expensive”, but in our case that is not so. We have a wide array of kitchens here and an excellent choice of appliances and accessories, which means there is something for everyone, suiting all tastes and budgets.

“We are able to offer designer style but without the designer price tag,” she explains.

“I want people to realise they can come to an independent and get a quality service, and quality products but at an affordable price.”

Maria is passionate about kitchen design and loves the process of working with clients to create a room which is just right for them.

Since opening last August, the business has developed a reputation for quality design and supply and they have already undertaken many successful projects.

After an initial visit to the showroom to see what Aviva Designs can offer, Maria will visit clients at their homes for a free measuring service and talk through their ideas, ascertaining first their lifestyle needs; how often they cook; whether they have children and whether the kitchen also serves as a family room.”

Maria then takes away these ideas to produce an initial design for the clients which they are invited to go along and see and together they work through any changes until they are completely happy with how it is going to look.

“I’m happy to play around with these designs until the clients are completely satisfied. It’s really important the finished product is something they are delighted with” added Maria. “People have started to realise how much time they spend in their kitchens so it’s important for it to be right and reflect their needs and personal style.”

As well as the wide range of products on offer at Aviva Designs, Maria is also happy to try to source anything else clients may have seen and want to incorporate into their designs, for example furniture or storage units.

Fitting can be arranged through Aviva Designs’ sub-contractors, who fitted their own showrooms and also work primarily for them, and this can be everything from the units to the lighting, tiling and plumbing.
